"You dare presume to command me, human?" Polaris hisses and rises into the
air as electric blue energy starts crackling around her body.

"Stand down, Polaris", Doom simply states with that usual edge to his tone
which says 'I don't care who you are, I am *DOOM* and that is supreme to
all'. "This is your only warning, woman."

"Your arrogance dooms you -- Polaris is puppet to no man!" she replies
sharply, as she flings her right arm forwards, the electric blue energy
streaming from her body to the armored, green-cloaked man as she intends
to rend the armor clear off him.

"Very well", he then comments, as his armor simply stands immobile
underneath the torrent of energy tearing at it, analyzing the energy,
adjusting to it, absorbing it.

She tugs harder.

There is no effect.

She hesitates.

He does not.

ZA-KOOM! At her weakest moment, he raises his hand, and unleashes the
energy she graciously awarded him, metabolized from magnetic energy into a
concussive blast.

"UNGH!" she cries, as she realizes her mistake, too late. She allowed her
rage to consume her, put more energy into attack than defense, and in so
doing, herself provided him with energy sufficient to breach her magnetic
shields. She is blasted back, into a pile of rocks, and lies there,
unmoving.

"Is there anyone else who will challenge DOOM?"

"Uh-uh."

"No sir."

"Sir Doom."

"We're cool."

"Can I have her?"
