I usually write Gargoyles fan fic but this is something different. This is the first in a series of short serialized stories about Lucy's and Q's relationship. Please e-mail me. This is rated R for mature themes and language. Little Sis: BreaQs by Dracona Dragillin Gargoyles belongs to Disney and Star Trek belongs to Paramount but Lucy Xanatos is mine. If you haven't figured it out yet, I am a hopeless romantic. Please E-mail me! Yes, this is another series but don't worry I'm keeping up with the "An Angel of Music" series. There are some mature language and themes in this story. Little Sis Q finally got a table. Humans were so slow about these things. He had decided to slum it and visit the 20th century on Earth, New York City to be exact. It was two years since he and the bitch gotten divorced. He remember that night, the turning point. They had just had intercourse and now laid back to back. It was such a cold sterile affair that all it cold be called was intercourse, just a mere bodily function. "Who's the real father?" Q asked. "What do you mean!?!" His mate's voice was colored with anger. "I'm not stupid. I know that you were already pregnant and that this screwing was just a cover-up. Who is the real father?" "Q is." Right away he knew which one. He remembered how Q taunted him when he became human. And how Q finally, although reluctantly, gave him back his powers. "Why the hell do we even bother? Everyone knows that we hate each other." "Then," his mate asked, "Why don't you ask the Continuum for a divorce?" "And they'll refuse my request just to make my life miserable. You're the one who has to do it. Then they can make it into a big humiliation for me. Don't you see it, you stupid bitch." Q was becoming more and more angry but so was his mate. "I'm going to ask as soon as possible you bastard." "Fine," Q said and disappeared. The surprising thing was that she wasn't making an empty threat. His mate asked for a divorce the next day and the Continuum granted it. Now she was with her Q and they had full custody of his son and the child that they argued about. Q did miss his son but most of him was quite happy to be free. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucy Xanatos stepped out of the gray New York winter, into Kerry's Koffee house. Damn, they were packed. *It's bad enough,* she thought, *that I have to face David but I don't want to do it on an empty stomach.* A waitress then approached her. "We're packed but if you don't mind sharing a table..." Lucy almost hugged the bedraggled woman. "That sounds great." The waitress lead her to a table. She then began to talk softly to the man who was occupying the table. Her speech was so soft that Lucy couldn't hear what she was saying. The man looked over at Lucy and said, "Why not?" Lucy quickly plopped down in the chair. She took off her jacket to reveal the "Hackers Do It With Megabytes" T-shirt. "Hi my name is Lucy Xanatos. And yours?" "Jeffrey Quill." "I'm a professional hacker and what do you do for a living?" Lucy saw an almost quizzical look cross Jeffrey's eyes. "What do you mean by a professional freelance hacker?" "A professional freelance hacker does many things. Companies hire me to try and break into their computer systems, so they can test out their security. I also test out software looking for bugs and viruses. I've also saved systems from major crashes. And I've designed computer systems, software, and more. If it has to do with computers, I can do it." Jeffrey saw that this woman was a touch egotistical but there was something about her eyes that revealed a gentle kindness. "If you have all these computer skills, why limit yourself to helping people? Why don't you use this to make yourself some money?" Lucy gave him a cold look. "You mean, use my skills to steal money. I'm sarcastic, stubborn, vain, and a total bitch. But I am not a criminal." "I'm sorry. I just wanted to make sure you weren't a typical cyberpunk." "I'm not an angel but I'm definitely not typical." Lucy grinned at Jeffrey who found himself grinning back. Beep. Beep. "What's that?" Jeffrey asked. But Lucy was already rummaging through her duffel bag. She pulled out a laptop computer and set it up. It was a very advanced model with many attachments: a mouse, a miniature satellite dish, etc. "Ms. Xanatos," said a voice that emitted from the computer, "Some person has caused our system to show a picture of Yoda making a rather rude hand gesture every time anyone hits a key. We will not tolerate this." Lucy bit her lower lip. "I'll take care of it, Mr. Burnside." Lucy began to madly type on the keyboard as Jeffrey listened to Mr. Burnside rant and rave over propriety and respect for others. A few minutes later, "I'm done, Mr. Burnside. I'm e-mailing the intruder's address and report of what they did and how I fixed it. I have to go now." She then turned off the computer. "Will he try and cheat you? I mean other than your word, there's very little proof of what you did." "He knows that I can really mess up his business if he tries anything. And I do have proof. Everything is down on this disk." Lucy pulled the disk out of the drive. She labeled it and put it into a container. Then she put everything away. The waitress soon came over. "Are you all ready to order?" ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucy laughed. Jeffrey was so charming and witty. "Not to be rude but is that your third cinnamon bun?" Lucy grinned and took a bite. "Forth. I have a very high metabolism and I workout daily." Lucy then looked at her watch. "Oh shit! I'm late! Bye I've got to go." She threw her money down on the table and gathered her things. "Wait," Jeffrey said as he grabbed her arm, "Can I see you again? Maybe dinner and a play, tonight?" "I'd like that. But you'd better give me your number. I don't know where I'm going to stay. I haven't made plans yet" He handed her a business card and watched her as she left. Jeffrey sat there, confused. *Why do I like this human so much. They're supposed to be lower beings, incapable of doing anything. Why is she creating all of these feelings* Jeffery paid the bill and left the coffee house. He slipped into the alley, snapped his fingers and disappeared with a white light. ------------------------------------------------------------------- "You wish to see Mr. Xanatos. Whom shall I say wishes to see him?" Lucy looked up at the bland yet stern man. He was blond and blue-eyed and wore glasses. "Just tell him that Lucy wishes to see him," she responded. Owen Burnett, that was what he introduced himself as, went into the office. Lucy then pulled out a book. She was going to start reading but Mr Burnett stepped out of the office. He looked at her with a confused look on his face. "Mr. Xanatos will see you now," he announced. Lucy nervously stepped into the office. She approached the desk and looked down at the occupant. "Hi Davie. Long time, no see." David Xanatos stood up, his eyes watering slightly. "Lucy, all of my life I've acted like a total ass. But I want to make a fresh start. And I want your forgiveness." He walked around the desk and face Lucy. Timidly, he put out his hand. Lucy pushed the hand out of the way and hugged him. "Of course I'll forgive you Davie. Can you get me a Klennex now?" Lucy started to wipe her tearing eyes. David addressed Owen, "Owen could you get Fox and Alex?" But he didn't let go of Lucy. A few minutes later, Fox, with Alex, barged into the office. David and Lucy were still hugging. "David! What the hell is going on here?!?" Xanatos walked over to Fox and took Alex. "Come on, little man, and say hello to your Aunt Lucy." "Aunt Lucy!?!" Fox had voice the surprised that she and Owen were both feeling. "Fox," Xanatos said, "Lucy is my sister. She and I had a falling out some years back. I wanted her to use her computer skills to give me an business edge." Fox then took a good look at Lucy. She had brown hair and eyes, tanned skin, and some similar features of Xanatos. "You wanted me to hack into other business' systems to steal information and mess up their systems," Lucy said wryly as she hugged Alex. "Sorry I didn't go to the wedding, Fox, but someone didn't tell me that he was getting married." "That's okay. Where are you staying and for how long will be in the city?" "I was planning to stay in a hotel and I don't know how long I'm planning to stay. Most of my work is done by remote hook-ups. So it doesn't matter how long I stay. I'm a bit of a gypsy. I travel a lot." "Well, you're staying here for as long as you like." "Thank you. I'd love to." ------------------------------------------------------------------- Elisa slowly climbed the stairs. She was an hour early for sunset but she felt like visiting Fox for a cup of coffee and a chat. "Ewisa!" Alex ran in and hugged Elisa's knees. "Aut Woocy is makin feetas!" "That's fajitas, Alex." Elisa looked at the woman in front of her. "My name is Lucy Xanatos. I'm Davie's sister." "I didn't know that Xanatos had a sister." "We've been estranged for awhile." "My name is Elisa Maza." "Are you a friend of Fox's or Davie's?" "Both sort of." Lucy saw how nervous Elisa was getting. 'I wonder why she's doing that,' Lucy thought, 'Something's up. I'm going to have to take a look at Davie's files. I'll do that tonight...No! I have a date. That's if Jeffrey hasn't made other plans.' Lucy then spoke, "I'm sorry Elisa but I have to go make a phone call." Lucy left the room and went to her bedroom. After rummaging around in her purse, she found Jeffrey's phone number. She then picked up the reciever and dialed the number. "Hello?" Lucy heard Jeffrey's warm tenor answer. "Hi Jeffrey! This is Lucy Xanatos. I was wondering if you're still free tonight. I know that I'm calling a bit late..." "No, you're not late at all. I'm free tonight. I'll pick you up at seven. How does a play and dinner sound?" "It sounds great. I'm in the Eyrie Building. I'll meet you in the lobby." ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucy waited anxiously in the lobby. It was only 6:55 but she was still nervous. She was wearing a simple little black dress. She then felt a hand touch her shoulder. "It looks like I'm not the only one who's early." "Jeffrey, you're here," she stuttered. His eyes caressed her body with his glance. "You look lovely." Lucy turned a bright shade of pink, "At least it's not a T-shirt and jeans." She stood frozen, captivated by his dark gaze. "Excuse me." Lucy turned around to see Owen standing there. "Mr. Xanatos would like me to give you your security card." He stopped and looked at Jeffrey with an odd look. "If you'll excuse me, I have other business to attend to." Lucy put her card into her purse. "That was odd. You want to get going?" Jeffrey took her arm and led her out. He lead her out to a limosine. He opened the door for her and she got in. He sat down next to her, close but not too close. "Are you as nervous as I am? I mean, we have coffee together but this is a real date." Jeffrey looked relieved. "I think I'm more nervous than you." ------------------------------------------------------------------- They both watched "Phantom of the Opera" and loved it. Afterward they went to a small yet nice Itailan restaurant. They both had some ziti. "Do you want to dance?" Jeffery gestured toward the dance floor were several couples were dancing to a band's instrumental versions of love songs. "I'd love to." Lucy felt the warmth of Jeffrey's body as he came close to her. One hand clasped her's while the other gently rested on the small of her back. Slowly they swayed to a version of Kiss from a Rose. Lucy slowly brought her head up and kissed Jeffrey. Her entire body burned with warm fire as he returned the kiss. Softly he pushed her away. "Lucy, I can't keep lying to you. I have to tell you the truth and you'll probably want to leave me. If I don't eventually, you'll find out and hate me for lying." "Jeffrey, what's the matter?" Jeffrey sighed and snapped his fingers. They then both disappeared in a flash of light. They reappeared on a beach. Lucy found herself sitting on a towel next to Jeffrey. "Where are we? What happened?" "Lucy, I'm not human. I'm a Q. The Q are a race of omnipotent alien beings. We have the power to make happen whatever we want, just by wishing for it." "Are you saying that you're a god." "Sort of." "Why are you telling me this?" "I rather like you. Actually I'm starting to develop feelings for you and I don't want you to dislike me. I'm not an angel either. I've done some pretty rotten things. But I do lo...like you a lot." "So is your name Jeffrey?" "I'm called Q. All of the Q are called Q." Q waited for her to become angry and start to yell. "Really original names. Well Q, you'd better take me someplace great for our second date." Lucy saw the confusion in Q's eyes. She leaned over and kissed him. Q put his arms around her and deepened the kiss. He was so surprised that a human could create these responses in him. She broke away, panting. "Sorry but I needed a breath. I'm only human, you know," she joked. "And a lovely one at that. Now what was that about a second date?" Lucy laughed and hugged Q. She had been shocked over his announcement. But she liked him and she even was beginning to love him. This time he kissed her. Lucy felt a surge of power and emotion from the kiss. Q stopped the kiss and looked straight into her eyes. Lucy smiled. "Where are we, anyway?" "Just a small little tropical island." "Good" Lucy laughed and threw a handful of sand at Q's clothes. She ran toward the ocean with Q following her. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucy walked into the Eyrie building and went up to the top in the elevator. When she got out Xanatos and Owen confronted her "Do you even know what you're date was?" Xanatos demanded. "He's a Q, an omnipotent alien being," Lucy said, "and we're going out again tomorrow." She walked right past Xanatos and went to bed. The End So what do you think? E-mail me! And stay tuned for Little Sis: HacQuer, were Lucy looks into Xanatos' security files.
