"Anncarra by Kiki the Weird Description: (Star Trek/Gargoyles crossover) Two Technomages must find a legendary hero but they need the help of Q and the clan. But these things are never that easy! This comes after "Moongrove" and has a PG-13 rating for language and mature situations. This happens about a year after Moongrove for the Clan, and a few centuries after Star Trek: Voyager's The Q and the Gray for Q. I'd like to thank the creators of Gargoyles and Star Trek and Disney and Paramount. This is an unauthorized piece of work but since I'm not getting paid, don't sue me! I'd love to have some feedback; please mail me. This comes after the story "Moongrove". If you are very easily offended or of a young age don't read this. This story is rated PG-13 "Anncarra" Owen Burnett moved around the office nervously. There was something not right about the world today. His employer, David Xanatos, approached him, "You're particularly nervous today. Is something wrong?" "I think so Mr Xanatos. I don't know how to explain this but my intuition is telling me that something bad might happen. While I was teaching Alexander I felt a strange and powerful presence and it worries me." Xanatos walked over Alexander's crib and picked him up. Alexander began to cry because of this sudden awakening. Xanatos quickly shushed his son and asked Owen, "Is this presence dangerous?" "I don't know sir." "But I do." Both men turned around quickly at the sound of the strange voice. A slender middle-aged man with slightly graying hair sat in Xanatos' chair. Xanatos looked over at Owen and saw something that surprised him; Owen was terrified. Xanatos had seen Owen face things that gave him nightmares. But through every horror Owen had kept his stoic composure. Xanatos finally spat out, "Who are you?" "Why don't you ask your friend, Puck, over there?" Xanatos was astonished and speechless. The man got up out of the chair and looked around the office. Then he paused in front of the desk. He leaned on the desk and spoke to Xanatos, "You have gargoyles on this castle." "Yes, we have some lovely gargoyle statues at the top of the castle." "Stop the bulls**t Xanatos. I know that if I were to look for those statues tonight, they wouldn't be there. Never mind that. This is the place. Au revoir Xanatos." And in a flash of light, the man disappeared. A million things ran through Xanatos' mind. "How does he know, Owen?" "Before I can answer that, I must make a few phone calls." Owen then left the room, leaving Xanatos with a truly troubled mind. * * * Sara was reading one of her favorite books, "Cyrano De Bergerac". Sara always felt that she could emphasize with poor Cyrano, and she didn't mean the gargoyle. She knew what it was like to live without love. Every man she had gone out with, since her release from the island, had just made her disgusted. Jerks and creeps. She wanted someone she could trust enough to love. At least her clan was finding happiness. Goliath's clan and her clan had merged into one. Goliath had remained leader but he confirmed most of his decisions with Valkria and relied upon her for advice. Galatea and Brooklyn became fast friends, as did Lex and Artemis. Sara knew that at least one of their relationships would turn from friendship into love. Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted by the phone ringing. She picked it up, "Hello. Who is this?" "It is I, Owen Burnett." "What do you want Owen?" Some small part of her was still angry at Owen, for trying to emphasize with her. He didn't have the right. He didn't go through the pain she did. He also did nothing to help her at the time. "We have trouble, Miss Firestone, from a Q." "Oh my God!" "I suggest you bring Mrs. O'Shea and stay here at the castle for a few days. We'll meet here at sunset." "I'll do that Owen. Thank you." A Q! All sorts of worries and fears ran through her head. She ran to Mrs. O'Shea and they hurried up and packed their bags. * * Cassandra was tired but she managed to drag herself through the door. "You're late!" her mother reprimanded. "I had Drama practice." "Acting is a waste of time." "Yes, can I go do my homework now?" Cass walked past her mother. *Acting maybe a waste of time but a bigger waste is trying to get me to stop. What am I going to do with my life? I don't want to be a lawyer like she wants but I'm not good enough to be a professional actress. There's something out there that I can do but lately I'm so confused. At least Miranda got out of here. Two more years of high school and I'm out of here.* Miranda's cheery voice interrupted her thoughts. Finally she was finished with the bathroom that the two girls shared. It was nice having Miranda home for vacation but Cass still didn't like sharing her bathroom. Cass went inside the bathroom, closing and locking the bathroom door behind her. She stripped out of her school uniform and began her shower. The hot water streamed all over her body washing away the day's grime and her aches and pains. She was singing softly to herself. She hurried up and washed everything. After turning off the shower, Cass started to walk out of the shower, only to discover that there was a man in her bathroom. He looked over her nude form with a interested glance. In a blind panic, Cass managed to grab a towel and somewhat cover her body. "Don't worry, Cassie, I've seen it all before." Cassandra could only stand there open mouthed. The man looked at her, "Well I must leave. We shall meet again." He bowed to her, as a gentleman would bow to a lady, and disappeared in a flash of light. Cass slowly sank to a sitting position on the floor of the shower. She stared at the spot where the man had been for a long time. Cass gave herself a shake and got up. She dried herself with the soaking wet towel and dressed. Cass was scared. *My God! How did he get into here?!? What if he can get in here anytime he wished?* Cass thought. "Cass, it was all a dream," she said to herself, "You've got to forget it. I'd better not tell Randa about this or she'll just worry. It had to be a dream, I am just overworked and in dire need of a vacation." She shook her head, walked over to the bathroom door, and found that it was still locked. 'Too weird,' she thought. She opened the door and left the bathroom. She checked on Miranda, only to find her fast asleep in her bedroom. Thinking that this was a good idea, Cass went to her bedroom and fell asleep as soon as she plopped down on the bed. * * * Everyone sat assembled in rec room. The entire clan (which was made up of Goliath's clan, Valkria's clan, Elisa, Matt, Sara, Mrs. O'Shea, etc), the Xanatos family, and Owen. "You mean this Q has the ability to do anything he pleases just by wishing it?" Goliath asked. "Yes and the Q actually do anything they want any time they want. This is a being we cannot fight. All we can do is to deal with whatever the Q does and wait it out until he leaves," Sara stated. Goliath hated feeling helpless and a scowl darkened his face. Elisa, who was sitting next to him, patted his arm reassuringly. "We've been through a lot," she said, "We can survive and even beat this as well." "Do you really think so, Detective Maza?" Elisa looked, in shock, at the source of the strange voice but Xanatos and Owen recognized him immediately. Q spoke again, "Elisa, you have no idea what your against." Goliath's eyes glowed white and a warning growl issued from his throat. Q rolled his eyes, "You've got to be kidding me. You really are clueless. I see a demonstration is in order." He snapped his fingers and then there was a flash of light. Goliath and Elisa fell to the floor, screaming in pain. To Goliath, nothing seemed to happen, but Elisa was transforming into a gargoyle. Finally they passed out and Q was no where to be seen. Everyone rushed to Goliath's and Elisa's side and they slowly awoke. Elisa looked down at her body, "Not again! Great how am I going to be changed back?" Sara answered, "I don't know. I sincerely doubt that I, Owen or Alex could change you back if Q doesn't want you to be human. But I don't want to try. He might have done something to you that might cause, whatever I do, to harm you. But I'm worried about Goliath. The Q did something to him but whatever it is, it doesn't show. What the Q did might harm him later on." The recovered Goliath stood up, "What happens to me does not matter. We must find a way to stop this Q from doing further harm." Sara shook her head. "That is a noble thought but how do we stop a being who can do anything he wishes?" * * * "Did you find her?" Q regarded the woman for a moment. Her blue eyes, which matched the blue streaks in her black hair, stared at him. "Yes, I found her! If the Continuum wasn't forcing me to do this..." "I don't care! All that matters is finishing this!" Q was about to retort but a pale pink portal appeared. A woman stepped out of the portal. She had pale pink streaked white hair and violet eyes. The black and blue haired woman rolled her eyes, "It's about time you showed up!" "I'm sorry Cybra but the dragon wasn't in a good mood, and I tried to explain to him but..." "Never mind! What races are missing from the potion?" "All we'll need now is a gargoyle's." "Great! Where are we going to find a gargoyle in New York City!?!" Q rolled his eyes. "I know." Cybra turned around quickly. "Where?" "In the Eyrie Building." "Are you sure!?! You had better not be lying!" "Look my dear Cybra Rose! I want to get this over as quickly as possible. Now why would I try to hinder your little Quest." Cybra turned away from Q to the woman. "Kallia! You get the gargoyle blood and I'll finish the spell." "OK Cybra!" The girl responded. She opened her hand and began to chant. A pale pink portal opened on the wall and Kallia jumped in. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must go," and with that the Q disappeared. Cybra shook her head, opened a blue portal, and jumped in. * * * The sky began to lighten and the gargoyles got into their positions. Goliath helped Elisa up next him. "Did you tell anyone about this?" "No, I told Matt to make up an excuse if anyone asks where I am. I don't want to tell my family until I'm sure that I'm stuck in this form, especially after what happened to Derrick." Goliath nodded and got into position. The sun then rose. Goliath and Elisa screamed in pain. They fell to the ground while the Xanatoses and Sara watched in horror. Their bodies were changing and reshaping. They passed out from the pain. Goliath was the first to awake but Elisa soon followed. They looked at their human forms with amazement. Sara was the first to say anything, "At least now we know what the Q did." * * * Cass was freaked out during school. She couldn't concentrate because she kept imagining that man popping up during school. She still couldn't figure out how that man appeared and disappeared from her bathroom. Finally after eight tortuous hours of listening to boring teachers and dealing with the phony snotty students, she got to go home. Miranda saw how her younger sister felt and asked, "What's the matter? You looked frazzled and I'm worried." "You wouldn't believe it if I told you." "I'm your sister. I've been through a lot with you. I'll believe anything you'll tell me." "Last night as I was showering, a man apppeared in the bathroom. He said that we will meet again and he disappeared in a flash of light. It was the weirdest thing! I don't know what to do Miranda. That's why I'm telling you this because you're the only one who'd believe me. What should I do?" "That sounds pretty weird. Whatever this is we'll survive. Besides if we can put up with Mom then we can put up with anything. I think we should go to a movie. It will get your mind off your troubles." "You're right. Let's go out * * * *Randa was right the movie was great.* Cass had loved Jurassic Park 2, although Randa got pretty grossed out about it. They stood outside of the theater discussing where they should go for dinner when Cass stopped in the middle of a sentence. "Did you hear that? It sounded like something in the alley." "We should go, Cass. Weird noises usually lead to bad situations." Miranda grabbed Cass' arm to prevent her from leaving. "We have to see if something's wrong." Cass broke free and ran to the alley. When she got there, she cautiously walked into the alley. "Now who do we have here?" Cass heard the voice she froze. Cass turned around and saw a woman. When Cass would recall this incident, she'd say that she couldn't remember the exact physical details of the woman but that the woman was very beautiful but very evil. Just looking at this woman scared Cass. "Who are you?" Cass shakily demanded. "To think that this little girl is to be my greatest enemy!" Then the woman started to laugh. Overcoming her mirth, she returned her attention to Cass, "Why tempt faith?" She looked behind her. "Kill her!" she commanded and then disappeared into thin air. Cass looked and saw the four creatures that the woman was talking to. They wore black robes with hoods. They had ghastly white skin over their skeletons but hardly any flesh between them, emaciated four-fingered hands that ended in long ebony poison talons, empty black eye sockets, and a long sharp hooked beak instead of a nose. One of them began to make a hissing noise and then it drew out a sword. It charged an afraid motionless Cass. The thing's sword came down... Then it was struck by a bolt of energy. The energy slammed the creature into the wall. As the creature slowly slid to the ground, the energy course through it. Finally the creature hit the ground and crumbled into ashes. Cass couldn't see who had fired the bolt. It seemed as if the bolt came from the shadows themselves. The dead body began to give off a horrible stench. The other creatures, seeing the leader's death, began to attack. One jumped on Cass and they both fell to the ground. The thing began to claw at her but Cass avoided its talons. She tried to shove the thing off of her. The creature pinned one of her arms down. It leered down at her and raised its clawed hand. Cass became frantic and tried to wiggle and squirm her way free. Then her hand came in contact with some sort of metal pipe and she grabbed it. With a purge surge of adrenaline, Cass shoved her arm out of the creature's grip and smashed the pipe into the creature's skull, crushing it. It collapsed on top of her, dead. Cass managed to push it off of her and tried to get up. Cass heard someone scream. She looked up and saw one of the creatures had grabbed Miranda. "No!" Cass screamed but to no avail. The creature smacked Miranda's head and she slumped over unconscious. It had Miranda in one arm and in the other was its sword. The creature sliced through the air, creating what looked like a shadowy rip. It jumped into the rip, taking Miranda with it. Cass began to run after them until something grabbed her ankle and twisted it. Cass fell to the ground. In an instant, the fourth creature, who had tripped her, was on top of her. It raised up a black dagger and was about to stab her when it was hit by an energy bolt. The bolt knocked the creature off of Cass. Cass sat up, surrounded by the dead bodies, in total shock. She looked at the spot where her sister had disappeared. "Oh! Randa!" she sobbed over and over again. A hand touched her shoulder. Cass seized the pipe and tried to jump up. As she got into a standing position, she fell to the ground in pain. The creature had sprained her ankle when it grabbed her! She looked up at the one who touched her. It was the man from her shower. "Get away!" she screamed. "Now is that any way to treat someone who has just saved your life?" The man had an amused look on his face. "Yes! Especially if you don't actually know if the person saved your life!" The man shook his head as Cass continued, "Why should I trust you? You popped into my shower like some perverted peeping tom! Who are you?" "My dear Cassie, I am a being known as Q." "And what is that?" "The Q are a race of omnipotent alien beings. We are quite capable of coming and going wherever and whenever we please and destroying skulkins." "Is that what those things are?" Q noticed that her tone of voice was lower. By using his empathic abilities, he saw her struggle against her fear to keep calm. He made his voice soft as he answered with a gentle yes to her question. "What happened to my sister?" Cass' voice was trembling. "They won't hurt her. They only want her as bait for you." "Why me? I've never heard of these creatures until tonight." "I can't explain that here. We're in danger and have to get to someplace safe. Morag will probably send more skulkins soon." "Morag was that woman I met earlier? The one that sent the skulkins to kill me?" "Yes" Cass sighed. She looked up at Q with a cross look on her face. "You could help me up!" she snapped. Q looked into her eyes and was slightly relieved to see that lost scared look was partially gone. "Excuse me!" He helped her up and she leaned on him for support. They walked out of the alley. Cass looked up at Q as they slowly made their way, "If you're omnipotent then why can't you just magically transport to this safe place?" "Morag's a very powerful being and she's looking for any sort of magic use. I don't want to waste the power disguising the transport. We're going have a long hard battle soon. Unfortunately confrontation is eminent so I want you to be prepared for it. And we need time to prepare." * * * Brooklyn glided through the air, patrolling the city. Goliath had decided the clan should resume their normal duties. He saw something scurry on the roof the building below so he landed upon the roof. There he saw some odd, white, skeletal, hooked nosed creatures. The creatures attacked. Brooklyn fought them off to the best of his abilities but they managed to pin him down. One of them held a dagger above Brooklyn's body, while the others held him down. Brooklyn then heard a small voice inside his head, "If you promise to do a small favor for me then I'll help you." As the creature plunged the dagger down, Brooklyn screamed out, "YES!" All of the sudden the creatures screamed in pain. They fell down. Brooklyn got up and saw a young woman, with pink streaked white hair, floating in front of him. "Now about that favor?" "What do you want?" "I just need a vial of your blood." The woman held out a small glass vial. "Why do you want blood?" "For a spell. I can't go into details. Are you going to give me the blood?" Brooklyn regarded the woman. Whatever she did to the creatures hurt them badly. She could take the blood by force. Brooklyn sliced open a small cut on his arm with one of his talons. He took the vial and filled it. Before he gave the vial over, he warned her, "If this spell is evil, I will find you and stop you." "Don't worry! My intentions are quite good. If not, then I would have let the skulkins have you and taken the blood from your remains. Or I could have taken it from one of your clan. I'm sorry but I must go. Bye!" A pale pink portal opened next to her and she went into the portal. Then the portal disappeared. Brooklyn glided back home thinking, *Goliath is going to kill me!* * * * Cass and Q finally reached the apartment. He opened the door and they walked in. Cass managed to limp over to the couch and sprawled herself out on the couch. "Would you like something to drink or eat?" Cass considered whether or not she should trust him. "A glass of juice please." Q hurried about in the kitchen and eventually emerged with the juice. He walked over to the couch. Cass had fallen asleep. She looked so peaceful, lying there. He found a blanket and covered her. Q turned away and was about to leave the room but instead sat down in a chair across from the couch. He stayed there for the rest of the night, watching and protecting her. Q sat there until he noticed that she was beginning to awaken. He quickly got up and went into the kitchen. He stayed there until he heard Cass groan softly. Q walked into the living room. Cass looked at him and asked, "What...what's going on?" "Do you remember what happened last night?" "Those skul-things attacked me and kidnapped Miranda! I've got to go help her!" Cass tried to get off the couch but found that her ankle was still in pain. She plopped back onto the couch. "Don't worry, you'll save her but there are a few things you need to know." "Then what are these all important secrets!?!" Q chuckled, "First I have to tell you a story. Before there was time, before there was the universe or any universe, there was a Being. This Being was a being of pure good and pure power. Because of that It created children beings. All of the children beings were equal and all were equally loved by the Being. But something happened and there was discord through the children beings. That discord created Morag, a creature of pure evil. She turned the children beings into monsters. Of course the Being fought back. The battle was long and by the end both sides were weak. Eventually the Being got most of Its children back but Morag still had a few. The children that the Being rescued were changed, they were tainted by Morag's magic. The Being was too weak to help Its children so It chose to go into a hibernation. In the hibernation, the Being took on the form of a giant Crystal and slept to replenish Its power. Morag tried to take advantage of the Being's weakness. She tried to destroy the Crystal but all she did was shatter it. When she shattered the Crystal, the universe was formed. The polluted child beings were spread far and wide and developed into the different races such as the Q, the Fey, humans, and many more. Morag and her monsters (the children that the Being was not able to save) went into their own dimension. But the Being did not die. It still lives on in the shards of the Crystal. Every once in a while, there someone who is has the power to join the shards together. And that person is called the Anncarra. Once all of the shards are joined together then the Being will live again and bring about a Golden Age. Morag will perish when the Crystal is whole. So she'll do any thing to stop the Anncarra from joining the shards and she often succeeds. So someone with potential to become the Anncarra must be found. Then a ceremony must be performed. The Crystal is bathed in a potion that contains a drop of blood from each of the ancient races. Then a Q is chosen to take the Crystal and stab it into the heart of the potential. This causes the magic that binds the potential to the Crystal and changes the potential into the Anncarra. The Q is then responsible for teaching the new Anncarra how to use the powers of the Anncarra. The reason why Morag wants to kill you is that you are to be the next Anncarra." Q looked over at Cass. She had an indefinable look upon her face. She looked up at him and asked, "Do I have any say in the matter?" "Yes, you can refuse to become the Anncarra. But if you do, another potential can be found. Morag will still kill you just because you have the potential. "Then I'll do it." * * * "OK, what's the matter Big Guy?" Goliath jumped up. He was in the library staring at a book, lost in his thoughts, and he did not hear Elisa enter the room. "Elisa!?!" "You've been in here for two hours and you haven't turned a page! Now what's bothering you? "I do not know what is going to happen. First the Q shows up and then Brooklyn's incident with those creatures and that woman who wanted his blood. I know that this is all connect somehow but I do not know how. It is frustrating, not being able to do anything." "Goliath, I know how you feel." She placed her taloned hand upon his shoulder. Goliath then quickly pulled away and averted his eyes. "But something else is bothering you." "Elisa, I..." "It's about our transformations. Isn't it?" "I know we must go back to what we were if we have the chance. But part of me does not want to." Elisa smiled, "Oh Goliath, I feel the same way. I do love you and this situation would be perfect. I get to stay human, you get to stay a gargoyle and we can be together." Elisa sighed, "But I suppose the right thing would be to go back to the way we were." Goliath held Elisa's face in his hands. "I love you too and I wish that we could stay this way." He then kissed her. And when they finished, he held her close and wrapped his wings around her. * * * Kallia and Cybra stood outside the apartment doors while Kallia fumbled for the key. Both were exhausted. They had only just finished the spell. Kallia had given her the gargoyle's blood so Cybra finished the potion. Together they submerged the Crystal and performed the nine hour ceremony to purify the Crystal. Now, after a rest, they'd find the Anncarra and bind her to the Crystal. That is if they could find the Q. Kallia finally opened the door. They trudged in, only to receive a big shock. There was the potential Anncarra and the Q. They sat on the couch talking to each other. "What's going on here!?!" Cybra shouted. Q looked up. "Hello little my Technomages! Have you finally finished your half of the ceremony?" Cybra was clearly angry. "What is she doing here? You were supposed to get her until the ceremony began!" "I would have let this wait but Morag has found out about our plans. She's already sent skulkins to kill Cassie. I saved her but her sister was kidnapped. Morag will probably use her for bait. We have to hurry up and bind Cassie." "Cass! My name is Cass, or Cassandra, or to you Miss Jensen! I hate being called Cassie!" "Whatever, Cassie." Cass gave out a frustrated groan. Cybra then asked Q, "Does she know what has to be done?" "Almost. I was explaining the Ceremony. I just told her that it will be painful after I stab her when the Crystal's magic transforms her body. She also knows the history of the Crystal. She also knows that I will bind her to the Crystal and teach her how to be the Anncarra. She has already agreed to go through the Ceremony. I was just going to explain who and what you two are." Cybra nodded. "OK. I can do that." She and Kallia sat down on chairs near the couch. Cybra turned to Cass. "I am Cybra Rose and that is Kallia Aphrine." Kallia smiled at Cass and Cass returned the smile. Cybra then continued, "We are Technomages, beings from another dimension with powers that are a mix of magic, science, mental abilities, and machinery. We have the ability to do magic with machines and science, such as controlling machines by thought. Technomages live in another dimension but we can travel anywhere we please. During a Technomage's life they must pass through certain levels: from Apprentice, to Journeyman or woman, to Master Mage, and maybe even to High Mage. But to do so, we must do certain things like projects, tests and quests. I am on a quest and if I succeed I will become a Master Mage. That Quest is to help bind the next Anncarra. Since this is a hard Quest, I was allowed to bring an assistant and that is Kallia." Cybra then got up, "If you agree to be the Anncarra, then I see no reason to wait. The Crystal is ready." Cass paused for a moment. "Yes, I'm ready." They all stood up. Q snapped his fingers and they disappeared. * * * Goliath, Elisa, Brooklyn, and Galatea glided through the stormy night. Elisa still had some problems but every time she fell, her guardian angel would catch her. They finally landed in an alley. Goliath questioned Elisa, "Why are we here?" "Some people from this neighborhood called the department. Last night, there were weird noises and lights coming from this alley. But after a half hour, they ended. All the police found here was some black rags, some scorch marks and a really horrible smell. The police have no idea what to make of it. I thought that this sounded weird enough that it might give us some clues to the craziness that has been going on." They combed the alley for clues but found nothing. Elisa sighed. "Sorry, I just thought that..." She was interrupted by a hissing noise. They all turned and Brooklyn cried out, "Those are the creatures that attacked me!" An army of the creatures began to move to let a woman and her captive by. The woman turned to Goliath and said rather coldly, "Where is the Anncarra?" "I'm right here!" Everyone turned around. There, standing in the opening of the alley, was a ordinary looking young woman. She was medium sized, slightly muscular, brown haired, and brown eyed. She had an odd crystal necklace on her neck. "So the child had returned." "I've grown up quite a lot since last night." The woman paused and grabbed her necklace and then she screamed. "Etonai Anncarra!" There was a flash of light and the woman was transformed. Her physical features were the same but there was something about her that was different. Her clothes had changed. She was now wearing black boots, long black trousers, a black sleeveless vest, a short sleeved white blouse with frills in front that went from the bottom of her neck to middle of her chest where the vest began to close beneath them, and the crystal was still around her neck. Around her waist was a plain black belt but from this belt hung a beautifully crafted silver sword. The Anncarra turned to the woman. "Release her, Morag!" Morag dragged her captive closer and put a dagger to her throat. "Not until you give me the Crystal, a trade - your sister for the Crystal." The Anncarra sighed, "I love my sister dearly but I will not give you the Crystal." Morag pushed the dagger lightly into Miranda's neck. Miranda gasped. And then the Galatea charged. Morag blasted Galatea with a beam of black energy. Galatea fell to the ground and did not move. The gargoyles, without Galatea, and the Anncarra attacked. The Anncarra fought off skulkins with her sword. She was an amazing swordswoman even though this was the first time she had used one. Q had told her that this and other abilities would come from the Crystal. Cass didn't believe him until now. They stopped the battle when all of the skulkins were dead odorous carcasses at their feet. Morag laughed, "So you defeated my minions but I'll kill your sister." Morag pulled out a dagger. She pressed it into Miranda's throat causing a small triclke of blood. Cass screamed out. She threw her hands out. A ball of energy went flying from her fingertips. Morag froze in shock. Miranda elbowed her in the stomach and rolled away. The ball of energy hit Morag. There was a flash of light and when the flash stopped, Morag was nowhere to be found. Cass went over to Miranda. "You okay, Randa?" "I think so Cass. What's going on?!?" "I'll explain later but first let's see to our new friends." Cass walked over to the gargoyles. The gargoyles had gone to Galatea's side. Brooklyn cradled her unconscious form in his arms. He looked up, "Will she be all right?" Cass looked at them. "I'm not sure that anything can be done." "Silly Cassie! Of course you can heal her. It's a part of being the Anncarra." There stood Q. His arms were folded across his chest and he shook his head. "Humans are such a limited species" he muttered. The gargoyles began to growl at Q. Goliath got up as to attack Q. "Don't try it. I'm the only one who can teach her how to heal Galatea." Goliath backed down but still glowered at Q. Q then began to instruct Cass and she followed his every word. "Place your right hand on her forehead and your left on the Crystal. Now concentrate on her. You'll find the problem and know how to fix it." Cass sat there with her eyes closed, concentrating. "I found it! Morag's beam did a lot of damage but I think that...YES! I did it!" Just then Galatea's eyes opened. Cass sat back, a bit dizzy. And Brooklyn embraced Galatea. Goliath turned to the two girls. "I'd like to thank you for saving her life. I'd would also like to know what is going on?" Cass smiled, "I'll tell you but can't we find a more comfortable place. It's a long story and I don't feel like sitting here in this cold stinking alley for a few hours." "Of course. We will go back to the castle." Cass turned to Q. "And you! MY NAME IS CASS NOT CASSIE!"
