psinex@yahoo.com Blood and Iron Chapter 11 by Phil Hartman DISCLAIMER: Everyone here is Marvel's, except for Buffy and Co., who're 20th Century Fox's, and Steve, who's mine. Please don't sue. -------------------------------------------------------- Why he wants me to keep a DIARY of these things ... I suppose to compare how much I've "GROWN." Sure, I can toss stakes into bullseyes from 50 yards. Sure, I can take out Alexa without thinking about it - and she's more dextrous than I am. Sure, I can tell if you're a living, breathing person or a demon-possessed bloodsucking corpse. But the hardest thing ? Last night. The first night. My first slaying. They say you never forget your first time, but I don't know. I'm not so sure I want this to get routine. Nate didn't kill Apocalypse; he put down a mad dog. Steve didn't kill anyone himself either - he was forced to track others. Me ? I chose this. It was about midnight; Giles, Angel and I were on patrol in the old cemetery - Angel looking as incredibly hot as ever, Giles all rumpled and huffing - - when IT burst out of the ground. Now I don't care how realistic the Danger Room is. I don't care about hours of dry lectures on the best ways to kill the undead. You get a rotting, animated corpse in your face, and you are NOT ready. It swiped at me with its' claws, and I ducked. I kicked its' feet out from underneath it - it wore high heels, a vampire with fashion sense, who would've thought ? And I threw the stake dead-center. The sound one of those ... things makes when it dies the Final Death ... ... no, I don't think I want it to become routine. That's why I'm enjoying the daylight more. The nights are really getting long after all. - Buffy Summers, 9/19/2003 -------------------------------------------------------- NEXT: You only THOUGHT you knew the FF ... ! -------------------------------------------------------- end _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
